Catholic Literature: An Introduction
Margaret Robe Summitt (b. 1955) was born and raised in Los Angeles. She worked nine grueling years toward a Ph.D. in feminist literary theory, while clinging to her Presbyterian faith. Although Presbyterianism and academic success were family traditions, Margaret eventually left both of them behind in her search for truth. After receiving her doctorate, she married and began a family and, in 1994, with the encouragement of her husband, Christopher, took instruction in the Catholic faith and was converted. Since 1995 she has been living in Everett, Washington, where she is active in Catholic homeschooling groups, and pursues her other passion, genealogy. She teaches Catholic literature at Corpus Christi Chapel in Edmonds, Washington.
