I read this because me and my family have a close relationship to St. Anthony. We always turn to him when we are looking for lost items. Also, I am a fan of Franciscan spirituality and the order, so I wanted to know all about their great saints. Lastly, one of my favorite miracles was the miracle involving the fish and St. Anthony, which I heard from Mother Angelica. So I was eager to hear about the miracles of this saint. I have to admit, his story really touched me. There are a lot of relatable, human qualities in St. Anthony that I think people will enjoy. His mortifications and humiliations that he experienced, where he had certain ideas about his life, what he wanted to do, but things didn't go how he planned---these really endeared me to St. Anthony. I feel that he absolutely is cut from the same cloth as St. Francis especially in terms of his special relationship with nature. I definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in good books on the lives of saints!
