I decided to buy this book as a result of Regina Magazine's incessant pushing of this book on social media. I love Regina Magazine and since I also love all things traditional Catholic, including the Latin Mass, how bad could it be? I have been on several panels where we read unpublished books and give the author suggestions of edits or where clarification is needed. These groups are a tremendous resource and I think this book could have used it before publishing. For one, I was extremely put off by the cursing. There is actual cursing in the book. My suggestion would have been to allude to it because I don't like to read cursing in a book. I also don't like my teenage daughter, who is an avid reader, to read cursing. Other things like the last name of the Brazilian bishop being "Pilar". That is a minor issue that is mostly picked up by Brazilians. Overall, the story was very good, but because of the cursing (most Latin Mass attendees would not like that) I cannot recommend the book. If they put the book through one revision that cleaned it up and changed the Bishop's name to something like "DaSilva or Pereira" then I would totally recommend it.
