A German Franciscan's Fight Against Nazism

Many Germans faced the dilemma of how to serve their country under the evil dictatorship of the National Socialist German Workers' Party. Fr. Gereon Goldmann had not yet been ordained a priest when the Second World War broke out, so he along with other seminarians were brought in to serve in the Wehrmacht. He show how the Nazis tried to corrupt the faith and morals of these men, who managed to serve their country without betraying their conscience. The wartime experience of Father Goldmann provides a great and unique adventure among WWII memoirs.

Also, Christians in modern western countries see our secular governments pursuing ends contrary to the Faith. Fr. Goldmann provides an excellent example for us in how to be true patriots without giving in to the evil demands of our civic leaders.
