Fulton J. Sheen:

Archbishop Sheen is known for his preaching and especially his work on television and radio. His cause for canonization as a saint was officially opened in 2002. In June 2012, Pope Benedict XVI officially recognized a decree from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints stating that he lived a life of "heroic virtues" - a major step towards beatification - so he is now referred to as "Venerable."

The Peace of Soul by the Venerable Archbishop Sheen is a book that gets its readers to think critically about different aspects of modern man and modern life and the ultimate realization: that of Christ. The variety of topics are interesting and really gave me a lot of food for thought. Its arguments were well founded and are supported by Sacred Scripture and the other sources both sacred and secular. Sheen also clearly states his intentions for the aspects of modernity to go after, for not everything is bad, and he uses the knowledge of Christ to give satisfactory answers to questions that modern man might fail. Overall a very intellectual book that is very competent for those who need or want to grasp their purpose in life and the love of God.
